This chakra is located at the top of the head, it radiates down to between your eyes and then infinitely upward and outward, connecting you to the energy of the rest of the universe. The crown chakra represents the ability to be fully connected spiritually. It is associated with higher consciousness and a state of pure being.
This chakra is located in the centre of the head, between your eyes and radiates down your mouth and up the top of your head. It represents wisdom, imagination, intuition and an ability to analyse and perceive truth in the world.
The throat chakra, otherwise known as Vishuddha which translates to ‘very pure’, represents communication, self-expression, judgement and creativity. It is concerned with the senses of inner and outer hearing, the synthesising of ideas, transformation purification and hearing.
This chakra is located within your heart, and is the centre of love, harmony, peace and compassion. It includes love for others and love for yourself, which is why this chakra is also associated with health and healing.
This chakra starts in the centre of the belly button and extends up to the breastbone, and is where your self-confidence, identity and personal power are born. Feelings of personal power, joy, laughter and anger are associated with the Solar Plexus.
The sacral chakra is located below the belly button and represents connection and the ability to accept others and new experiences. It is concerned with emotion and represents pleasure, desire, procreation, sexuality and creativity.
This chakra is located at the very base of your spine, near your tailbone. It’s role is to connect all of your energy with the earth, and create the feeling of being grounded. It also represents survival needs like shelter and security, and is therefore good to focus on if you travel a lot and don’t always have a fixed home or sense of security.
